News director cited for lottery deceit
The Oregonian reports that KVAN
news director Paul Hanson was cited by Oregon
State Gaming detectives on April 30 for altering a lottery ticket to look like a $25,000
winner. Hanson counters that the accusations are outrageous
and false and that he turned the ticket in pointing out to
officials the machine printing errors on it.
Shore leaves The Fan
Dave Shore the morning host for the past four years at AM 910 The
Fan departed on April 26 for ESPN radio in Dallas. The new morning guys on the
all sports station are Ken Wyman and Todd Pickett. Allan
Davis, from Ottawa, Canada, is named the new KFXX program
director.
Deb and Donovan out at Kiss-en
The KKSN-FM morning team Deb James and Jim
Donovan were given the boot on April 16. Afternooner John Williams
is reunited with his former morning slot of six years ago at the station. In other
changes Glynn Shannon, from KGON is moved to
afternoons at 97.1. Scott Forrest and Dave McKay
are replaced by the adjustments and longer shifts.
Murphy and Clark reunite
John Murphy and Dan Clark returned to
the morning zoo lineup at Z100 on Monday March 26. Also added to the morning lineup
is the vivacious Leah Brandon.
Schonely returns to radio
Well-known Portland sportscaster Bill Schonely inked a four year deal to
do play by play broadcasting of Portlands new triple-A baseball
team, the Portland Beavers. The broadcasts start with the first crack of the
bat on April 5th from flagship station AM 970 KUPL. Schonely
previously broadcast the Portland Trailblazers
from their inception until 1998.
Nelson to Rosie 105, Murphy to Z100
Portlands zaniest morning voice, Nelson, who had
been with Z100 for more than a decade moved over
to Rosie 105 KRSK on Monday, March 5. Nelson
teams up with Terry Boyd for the morning gig. On the same day, Z100
announced that John Murphy will soon return to the morning show at KKRZ.
